Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 June 2026. By accepting this notice or using Cosmira Date, you confirm the practices described here. Cosmira Date ('the App', 'we') is a relationship discovery and self-reflection app based on birth charts, cosmic transits, and astrological compatibility. We respect the privacy of your personal data. This document explains, under the EU GDPR and Turkey's KVKK, what data we process, why, and how.
1. Data Controller

2. Personal Data We Collect
Account: email address, display name — provided by you (email one-time code, Google, or Apple sign-in).
Birth information: date, time, and place of birth (city) — provided by you, used to calculate your birth chart.
Profile: bio, interests, 'what you're looking for' preference, profile photos — provided by you.
Communication content: messages you send to matches and conversations with the AI guide 'Mira' — provided by you.
Usage: daily AI/message quotas, match and like actions, 'who viewed your profile' events — automatic.
Purchases: subscription/token state, transaction IDs — from Apple, Google, Stripe, or RevenueCat.
Technical: IP address, session/device info, error logs — automatic (security and operations).
We do NOT collect device GPS location. 'Birth place' is a city you enter manually; we do not request your device's location permission. We do not request camera, contacts, or storage permissions; the app uses only internet access.
3. Purposes and Legal Basis
Account creation and sign-in: performance of a contract.
Birth chart, transit, and compatibility calculations; AI interpretations: explicit consent (birth data) and performance of a contract.
Matching, messaging, and profile viewing: performance of a contract.
Premium / token purchases and subscription management: performance of a contract.
Security, abuse and fraud prevention, debugging: legitimate interest / legal obligation.
Reports/complaints and moderation: legitimate interest.
Birth date/time/place, photos, and message content are required for core functionality; without them the relevant features will not work.
4. AI Processing (Mira and Interpretations)
For birth chart interpretations and the 'Mira' chat, the messages you send and a summary of your birth chart are sent to an AI provider (Moonshot AI — 'Kimi' model, via OpenRouter) to generate a response. This content is processed only to generate your reply.
AI interpretations are for entertainment and self-reflection; they do not constitute medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice and offer no guaranteed predictions.
5. Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the following service providers and only to the extent the service requires:
- Hosting (our own infrastructure / hosting provider): data storage (Supabase-based, hosted by us).
- Moonshot AI / OpenRouter: AI interpretations and chat generation.
- Apple, Google, RevenueCat: mobile in-app purchase and subscription management.
- Stripe: web payment processing.
- Resend: transactional email (sign-in codes, etc.).
Users you match with can see your profile information (name, photos, bio, interests, zodiac details) and the messages you send to them. This is intrinsic to a dating app.
6. International Transfers
Some providers (e.g., AI and payment) may operate servers outside your country. In that case your personal data may be transferred internationally for service delivery and/or with your explicit consent. We take reasonable measures to apply appropriate safeguards to these transfers.
7. Retention and Deletion
We keep your personal data while your account is active or as needed for the purposes above. You can delete your account from within the app (Profile > Delete My Account). When the account is deleted, your charts, profile, photos, messages, and related records are permanently removed.
Limited records (e.g., transaction/invoice records) may be retained for mandatory legal periods.
8. Security
Your data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS and protected with row-level security (RLS); each user can access only their own data and content shared with them. While no system is 100% secure, we apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data.
9. Children / Age Limit
Cosmira Date is for individuals aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover such data, we delete it.
10. Cookies and Local Storage
The app uses local storage on your device to keep your session and remember preferences (e.g., selected tab, language, session info). This data is not used for advertising.
11. Your Rights
Under GDPR and KVKK you have the right to access, request information, rectify, erase/destroy, object to processing, learn the parties to whom data is transferred, and seek remedies. You may also withdraw any explicit consent at any time.
To exercise these rights, contact support@cosmira.date. We respond within the period required by law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you in-app or by email of material changes. The current version is always available on this page; the 'Last updated' date at the top applies.
